Practicing Wakefulness

Signs of Caffeine Overdose

Blinksleep is a new awareness technique I’ve decided to try.   I spend too much time with my eyes glazed over, not really hearing or seeing what goes on around me.  Routine can lead to putting your life on autopilot and missing all the wonder that happens in the moment.  The goal is to not sleep with my eyes open, but to blink and wake up.  Take a fresh look.  Wouldn’t it be amazing if the only sleeping we did in our days took place during the average 17,000 times we blink?  If blinks take 1/8 of a second (just guessing) then that’s 35 minutes of sleep a day.  That should be enough time to get my waking sleep hours in.
